Description

Use this chart and student bookmarks to color code your library (by reading level) so you can help your students find "good fit" books quickly! The colored stickers are NOT included. (These can be purchased from Amazon.)

Suggested Use:

1. Customize your reading ranges and colors on the editable color-coding chart (PPT file).

2. Print, laminate, and post the chart in your classroom library.

3. Label classroom books with the corresponding color label based on reading level.

4. Customize/type student names on the editable bookmarks file (also PPT).

5. Print/laminate bookmarks for durability. Once assessing students, place colored labels on the bookmarks that best suit individual reading levels. Students will refer to the colored dots when choosing books from the classroom library.

6. After identifying a student's target reading strategy(s), write this on the bookmark for him/her to reference while reading.
