We’ve Got an App for that! The Classroom Library with an App feel!
This classroom library will be sure to be a hit with icons that are modeled after iPhone/Smartphone apps! What kid can’t relate? These icons measure 4 in x 4 in and will fit nicely on any baskets. I would laminate and then adhere with bookbinding tape for extra durability.
Included in this product is also labels for your books so that your kids will always know which bin to return their books. I used Avery 5160 labels. You could just print them on cardstock and then tape to each of your books. Not all on my list are genres but a way to organize. There are also blank labels that you can add your own graphic and font. I used Hello Miss THANG; size 36. I also left the “series” label blank so you can add your own graphics since copyright prohibits me from adding in book covers from Google images, but you can! There are six blank labels
Genres included are:
Graphic novels (although not a genre)
Magazines (not a genre)
Nonfiction (not everyone refers to books as informational)
Information (not everyone refers to books as nonfiction)
Author Study-not a genre
Highly Recommended-not a genre
In the age of Common Core, kids are to be reading an equal mix of fiction and informational books. This library allows for all types of books! Independent reading is the cornerstone of a great reading workshop and having a well-stocked library is key! Even if you are a new teacher, these labels can work for you as you build your library for years to come! Veterans, and kids alike, will love the new-age twist of bringing the app feel to the classroom library! It’s unique and there isn’t anything out there like it! Plus! You can add your own!
Thanks for stopping by!
