We're going on a LIBRARY HUNT!
I love opening up my classroom library at the beginning of the year and seeing the excitement on my kids faces. But before it's officially open, I want them to be familiar with books that are available to them. Task cards are the perfect way to get kids moving around the room, but also to help with exploring texts they might not normally look at when picking their own books.
These task cards can be used as a whole group - I just place the cards around the room with a correlating library basket - and the kids partner up, travel, and explore. These can also be used in a small group within your actual library for a more intimate setting.
