These helpful “Friendly Reminder Songs” are meant to be sung a capella (voices only, without accompaniment). They are designed to be used "on the fly" whenever needed. However, not all teachers read music, so I have included mp3 audio files of the melodies to help teachers/students learn the songs.
- Criss Cross Applesauce
- I Will Not Interrupt
- Hallway Song
- Taking Turns
- Write Your Name
- Clean Our Room
- Cooperation, No Tattle Tailin'
- I Will Not Whine
- Eyes on the Teacher
My students LOVE these songs. Oftentimes they initiate the songs themselves without any prompting from me. Occasionally at the end of class, if we have a little extra time, students get to pick a song or two. I am always surprised when they choose "I Will Not Interrupt" or "Eyes on the Teacher" or any of our other Friendly Reminder Songs.
Singing reminders & directions helps to make class much more fun for students and teachers. Kids don't care that you are not a professional singer. Neither am I. Use these songs as a model and create your own "Friendly Reminder Songs" to give directions for activities throughout your day.
