This document is a student participation "passport" and is a tried and true way to manage student use of the target language in a second language classroom.
Each student brings his or her passport to class each day (or teacher keeps them in the classroom for each student" and "earns" his or her stamp for the day by consistently using the target language. In the event that a teacher hears the students speaking his or her first language when the second language should be in use, the teacher may cross out the student's "stamp" for that particular day. The passport has a total of 20 "stamps" and is intended to last students for 4 weeks. At the end of the 4 weeks, the teacher collects the passports and use them to assign a monthly participation "grade" and/or to provide rewards to students who have demonstrated exceptional use of the target language, earning all or most of their stamps.
This document is a word file that can easily be edited for any second language classroom.
