I use this to manage behavior for the whole class, and it works like a charm! I mount the printable onto a piece of cardboard or cardstock. I use a clothes pin and move it up/down side according to the kiddos behavior. It is a great visual for them to instantly see the results of their behavior. I sometimes have the kids bring this chart with them to their specials classes to assure they are on their best behavior!
What do the points mean?
I sit with the students and we decide as a class what rewards they would like to work towards. Some examples that children have suggested: pajama day, no homework week, lunch with teacher, 5 extra minutes of recess, etc. I let the class vote on several ideas, then we rank which ideas should be worth more/less points. Then we let our behavior points adds up! (For example, when our class earns a total of 100 points we get to have "wear crazy socks" day, when we reach 300 points we get a homework-free week!).
