Classroom Management Strategy Sticky Notes

Here is a quick and easy classroom management strategy to encourage good character, while having fun learning in the classroom. Hang any one of these posters around your classroom and create lasting memories. These posters are a great reminder for your students to write their message onto their special sticky Post-It notes.

I have provided a colored version along with a printer friendly black & white version.

Every morning, I place a fancy Post-It note on each of the students’
desks. Students then write, “I had a good day today!” onto their
sticky notes. Throughout the day, if students demonstrate good character, are on task, listening, participating, exceeding in a particular skill or concept, and so forth, they are then immediately rewarded with either a cute stamp, a sticker, or a decorative shaped hole punch right on their sticky notes.

The object is to get as many positive reinforcements as possible on their sticky notes before the end of the day. Students can then take their sticky notes home and share their good day with their caregivers and siblings. My students always aim to collect as many sticky notes as possible by the end of the school year! They then can reflect back and see that they truly had a wonderful school year.
