"The management of behavior problems will follow one of two paths in any classroom: If you are consistent, you can use smaller and smaller consequences to govern misbehavior. If you are inconsistent, you must use larger and larger consequences to govern misbehavior." - Fred Jones
The most important aspect of any successful behavior management system is: consistency. Often, teachers become inconsistent with their behavior management systems because the system is simply too complex to handle and/or because the system significantly increases the amount of work on the teacher.
Over the years, I have developed a classroom management system that is simple to use, understand, and implement. As a mentor teacher, I frequently share this behavior management system with my mentees. The mentees that are consistent and use the system have considerably less problems than those that don't.
The students appreciate the system because the consequences are predetermined and logical. The system helps students take ownership of their misbehavior and it helps the teacher manage his/her classroom. This product has been tested and proven!
