Are you looking for a classroom management system that both motivates your students, but that also doesn't take much effort on your part or cost you a fortune? You may like this one.
I've been teaching for years now and have tried many different things. I started using the banking system a few years ago and it works better than anything else I've ever tried.
Throughout the week kids earn and loose money for all sorts of things - doing homework, not doing homework, being on task, shouting out without raising a hand, etc. On Friday, the kids get paid and the "bank" opens for them to purchase things. There is a treasure chest with things they can purchase, but the more popular items are things that don't cost me anything. The kids love it and so do I. It's a great way to sneak in a little more math too because they have to count their money and budget/save for the items they want to purchase.
In the digital file you will find detailed information about how to set up a bank and how I use mine in my classroom. I've also included a list of the things that my kids earn/loose money for, the money so it's ready to print, the reward coupons that are ready to purchase, etc. My classroom is in the theme of the ocean, so my bank is "The Island Bank and Trust", but you can change the clipart to whatever your theme is. Just change my name to yours, print, laminate if you want and get started. You can look at the preview page to see an example of one of the bucks, one of the coupons and a little picture of my bank in my classroom.
