Many times I think to myself, "How many times could you possibly need to go to the bathroom in one day?" Seriously!!! Every year I have a handful of kiddos that are compelled - COMPELLED - to waste time in at least one of three ways:
1) Going to the bathroom
2) Getting a drink
3) Inventing questions to ask me
Thus, I came up with my time waster desk charts. These charts come in 18 different formats to fit the needs of your classroom. Each chart comes in either full color or black and white and are specific to boys or girls. The charts allow for the following (you can chose which chart you would like to use):
Bathroom Breaks: 1 or 2 times per day
Drinks: 1 or 2 times per day
Questions: 1, 2, or 3 times per day
The charts can be posted on student desks, or some other more private area in the classroom. Once a child's allotment of breaks is up, that's it! Soon specific students learn to conserve the amount of times they ask for when it is truly necessary. Works like a charm!
