Combine this with a sense of humor and both you and your students will giggle as basic classroom manners are reviewed.
This game offers a fun way to review and teach basic classroom manners.
Bingo card template
Manners word chart
Bingo clue cards
Bingo chips (included but not necessary if you have bingo chips)
Print the teaching poster
Print blank bingo cards (one per student and a few extra just in case…)
Print word chart (one chart for display and discussion)
Print and cut apart bingo clue cards (consider laminating for future use)
Have bingo chips available for each student (one page per student or use your own bingo chips… dried beans, torn paper, M and M’s, etc.)
Distribute the blank bingo grids (one per student).
Define Charm School. Define manners.
Display and discuss the quote on the teaching poster
Display and read aloud the chart of Manners words.
Invite students to select 24 words/word groups (plus one free space) and write them directly onto their grid
When all students have completed this task you’re ready to play.
Note: This game can be played over and over. Just change the bingo expectations. You might say “four corners” or “diagonal only” or “two complete rows” etc. Students can also switch cards with another student. Feel free to add other classroom Manners. Add the Manner to the word chart and create a clue card.
