This is a quick tool that I have used with my 4th grade ESL class to keep everyone focused and listening to the lesson. It has supplied a bit of incentive using a game-day reward (I use and educational word game) to help keep everyone focused. It is simple to use. As soon as I catch someone doing the right or wrong thing, I can make a very quick check on that student's chart. My class was having trouble with blurting out a lot of off-topic information, and this quickly curtailed that. When students have reached eight days (or whatever number you determine to be appropriate) of good behavior, they earn a reward. This could easily be used with any elementary class to teach good classroom manners.
