This simple cutout forms a rich listening activity for language learners. I made it for my beginning Spanish students, but it would work equally well for any world language or ESL students.
Once students cut out their playing pieces, they listen to teacher directions about the location of the object. For example, "Los marcadores están sobre la mesa." Students place objects as directed in relation to the table (or other objects, for a challenge).
Once students know how to play, you can have them work in partners taking turns giving directions. I also had success using it as a low-key listening assessment for younger students — they would play while I semi-secretly noted their responses on a chart.
