Every classroom has a ton of supplies that need to be organized. Here are a group of 10 labels to be placed on bins, bags or boxes holding the following supplies: pencils, erasers, crayons, colored pencils, markers, dry erase markers, permanent markers, glue sticks, glue bottles and scissors. These labels are designed to be printed on 3x5 index cards and glued or taped to the container. The labels contain both the text and an illustration of the supply to aid in early literacy/special needs education. The labeled boxes organization system encourages students to put things away in their proper places.
In my classroom, I collect these supplies at the beginning of the year. I keep them in shoe boxes covered in scrapbook paper. Each box has a label of what is inside. When we need a supply, students know which box to get. It helps to keep the room tidy and keeps things from getting lost in their desks. Also, it helps to build classroom community because we share the supplies.
