These student-made rules posters are great for the beginning of the year or anytime you need your students focused on behavior, classroom procedures and rules, or being a good citizen.
After a whole class discussion of what it means to be a good citizen, students select one declaration (for example, “We sit quietly!”), and draw and write about that sentence.
Each statement has two sets; one with the sentence prompt “This is important because” and one without the sentence prompt. There are two statements per piece of paper to save on copying. Each statement poster is a half sheet in size.
Have the students glue their posters on background paper and display them around the classroom.
I have included these posters in my Back to School unit
, so please re-download if you already own that.
