Make the most of your journal writing time as the new year begins with these paperless (or printable) journal prompts.
What are the rules in the hallway?
How should we use our glue?
What are the rules for sitting at the carpet?
These are important topics as you begin the school year, and well worth some discussion time to make sure all students understand.
These paperless journal templates are meant to help you introduce class rules and procedures to students, and if you wish, write about them to ensure a solid understanding.
Each projectable template has a photo of the subject (ie. glue, books, crayons, playground, etc.) and room to add sentence frames and vocabulary.
What if you have procedures that are unique to YOUR classroom?
No problem - you can change or edit any of the sentence starters and vocabulary. Or, just snap a picture from your classroom and insert it into the blank editable templates and you've got a personalized journal template to use year after year!

UPDATE: I've added a complete set of 50+ Classroom Rules templates specifically to write and draw about the class rules. These are perfect for younger students: students are prompted to draw a picture of themselves both following the rule and NOT following the rule before writing 3 details!
See the preview for pictures - my students LOVED this part.
TEACHER TIP! The Classroom Rules journal pages are perfect to use Remind the students of the rules and ask them to write or draw about them on the templates. Or,
This is a NO PREP and PAPERLESS activity - just project each template onto any white board and discuss together. Questions are embedded to guide your discussion!
If you wish, pages can be both by adding your own text and pictures, and printed to write on!
These templates are EDITABLE Power Point files, meaning they have EDITABLE TEXT BOXES so that you can simply type your own text, sentence frames, questions, and word banks. You can add photos in the blank versions, too!
