I hang these signs on our chalkboard/whiteboard to help my students (and myself) keep track of the special classes and/or events scheduled for the day. I find that those children who struggle with surprises or changes to their routine, find comfort in having that visual reminder of what will be happening in their day.
In our school, our schedule changes each day. At times, it can be difficult to keep track of where we’re supposed to be each day. I find this visual schedule method is quick and easy to change each day. Included in the signs are typical special area classes such as PE and Music, as well as those activities that don’t occur as often, like Counselor Lesson, Party, and Picture Day.
Each sign has a rebus picture to help lower level readers and the activity name. I simply print them, laminate them, and they’re ready to go for the year (or longer)! I updated these this year, because I was tired of looking at the same old clipart. Since I don’t list the day or time of the activity, my previous set has lasted 15 years!
Each sign is a space-saving ½ sheet of standard letter-size paper. There are 12 signs included in this packet.
