These colorful sign language posters have been a life saver in my own classroom! Not only are they super cute, (and the bright colors go with any classroom theme imaginable!) they have helped me manage my students better and helped me avoid the unnecessary verbal conversations of, "Can I get some water?" or "My pencil broke!"
I have intentionally left clip art off of these posters so that you can choose your own hand signals for each poster. You may either insert your own clip art, use die-cut hands, or trace your own hand and paste it to the poster.
(I used die-cut hands on my own posters in my classroom and love how they looked.)
The signs I use in my classroom are as follows:
1 finger-I need a new pencil.
2 fingers-May I use the restroom.
3 fingers-May I get some water?
4 fingers-I need to throw my trash away.
OK sign-Go ahead.
Five fingers up/Stop sign-Please wait.
Feel free to change the hand signals as needed for your own classroom to better improve your classroom management.
