Teaching young students strategies for calming their bodies is an important skill; one that works it’s way into our lessons and daily interactions in the classroom. Through social skills lessons, students can be taught to identify when their body is feeling tense and ways to help feel calm. Feel free to select the strategies that work best for you and your classroom. Most years, I try to teach 3 strategies. This provides enough variety without overwhelming them - I’ve found their more apt to use them if they have a few clear cut strategies to turn to!
This pack includes visuals for EACH strategy, an explanation of how I introduce the material, and visuals for a two lessons.
