This power point explains the the four point voice scale to students. It explains the importance of being at a "1" when a person is talking, then goes on to tell how being at a
"1" is like being a mouse and that a mouse is so quiet. A mouse listens and pays attention to what is going on around him. A mouse never uses his voice unless he really, really has to.
Be at a 1 in group when the speaker is talking.
"2" --A cat is still quiet, but can use a little voice when the time is right.
Be at a "2" when we are working with a partner or when we have quiet choice time.
"3" A dog can be noisy when he is playing and having fun. A dog uses his voice when the time is right.
Be at a 3 when we have free play time inside or outside.
"4" A monkey loves to use her voice. She plays very loud. She always uses her loud voice when the time is right.
Be at a 4 when you are at recess and playing outside.
