I am a Certified ChildLight Yoga Instructor and a Speech Language Pathologist. I love using yoga techniques in therapy. One exercise I use a lot is breathing breaks.
These activity cards focus on breathing exercises. Children feel calmer, more focused, less agitated, and less reactive when they become aware of the power of breath. The key is to teach children to take deep, full breaths.
Use these cards as needed. You could take them out before a test to increase their focus. When the children are wound up after recess, take out the calming cards and try one. If the children are lacking energy, pull out the energizing ones.
Please laminate the cards, cut them out, and sort them according to the benefits (calming, energizing, focus).
