"Clavelitos" is a classic tuna song. Tunas are similar to mariachi bands but generally are made up of university students who sing serenades as they play acoustic guitar. Often performing in restaurants, on busy tourist locations or at weddings, they still wear the traditional attire from the 13th century. This two page work sheet is a cloze activity with 9 blanks to fill in from a word bank. The song lyrics are in Spanish and feature direct object pronouns, possessive adjectives and is a great activity for Valentine's Day - or any other day. I included You Tube link - there are lots of versions of this song, but this particular link is exactly the kind of band you'd see while traveling in Spain. Note: these Spaniards sing "coger" instead of "traer." I left it "traer" on the w.s. in case you have any students familiar with the other meaning of that word. :) The changed lyric does not affect the cloze blanks.
