Students research the common features of a pitcher and then look at a variety of pitchers made by different potters. Students will use plaster moulds (I made mine out of flowers, butterflies, leaves, pine cones, and other items found in nature- you will have to either make or buy yours) as a key element to the design of their pitcher. Student are given clay slabs that they fashion their pitcher from and add their key element to the surface. Glaze is used to complete the final piece.
Patterns for the pitchers can easily be found online if you search. They are not included in the project.
