This is a really challenging but amazing project for high school visual art students for their clay unit of study.
It asks them to create vases inspired by MYTHOLOGY and GREEK VASES.
It lets them pick whatever myth they want (from whatever region/religion/culture) so they get really into it because it's so open.
This project goes through the step-by-step process from planning to creation:
[there's loads of awesome tutorials on YouTube for this to show them!)
[I included both because it depends on what you have access to with supplies]
Also included is a rubric to make marking easy for you.
This turn out amazing! They're always successful with this simple "age old" coil method of creating.
-you can use air dried clay for this if you don't have access to a kiln...if this is the case, you can paint the final vases and if you spray with "spray gloss" after, it'll look like a faux glaze shiny finish
