Clean the Pigs is a hands-on articulation activity using dry-erase markers, tissues, or sponges for cleaning the pigs. Children practice saying each uncovered word after wiping the “mud” (marker) off of the pig. Students may get extra articulation practice by saying all 10 words on the page before making the pig dirty again by coloring over the words with a dry-erase marker.
The 89 pigs included in this packet contain 56 phonemes/ consonant blends. Each pig includes 10 target words. Pig pages may be printed in full pages and stored in plastic sleeves/page protectors, or you may choose to make quarter page Clean the Pig Articulation flip books.
To make the quarter or half page articulation flip book: Select “layout” in printer settings and then select 2 or 4 pages per page and print! After the small pages have been printed and laminated, hole punch the top and use binder rings to make the dry-erase flip book. Children in my articulation groups LOVE using their own Clean the Pig flip book while working on their sounds.
