Page 6 – STUCK! – Open Ended – Print one card for each student. Print additional cards to cut up and give to students after their correct response. They place it on their board – the first to spell STUCK is the winner.
Page 7-9 – 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, Last – Use to meet your student’s objectives – you can make this as easy or difficult as needed for your student’s objectives. Page 7 is to teach, having students point to the first row, etc. Page 8 contains the pictures in a different order. Page 9 are some sample directions.
Page 10-11 – Listening for Details – read sentence to students and ask the questions.
Page 12-14 – Ho! Ho! Ho! – Compare/Contrast – Print Ho, Ho, Ho cards and the compare/contrast cards. Mix together. Students take turns answering compare/contrast questions. If they receive a Ho, Ho, Ho card, they get an extra turn. The student with the most cards at the end is the winner.
Page 15-24 – Duck, Duck, Cotton Ball! (one page each for antonyms, synonyms, multiple-meaning, prepositions – spatial concepts, categories, pronouns + ing verbs, functions, blank). Students give response for their objective, then glue a cotton ball on the duck’s hat. You can also use magnetic chips, paint daubers, or play dough.
Page 25 – 10-part sequencing puzzle – Print a number of the puzzle and cut apart. As students receive a piece of the puzzle, they put it together in the correct order of the story.
