This 34 page companion packet is perfect for speech or language therapy, literacy circles and whole group activities.
Included in this pack:
Ordinal Numbers: (page 3-4) Print and cut out the included cards. Have students place the cards in sequential order as it happened in the story.
Matching: (page 5) Give each student a copy. Cut and paste the words from the bottom with the animal that makes that noise.
Links To The Story: (page 6) Students will link the strips together in sequential order while retelling the story.
Barrier Game: Print 2 copies of page 7 and attach to each side of a manila folder. Print multiple copies of pages 8-9 and cut out pieces. Give each student the same pieces. Place the folder between the students where they are unable to see what the other person is doing. Give directions of where to place the pieces. This is great for following directions and retell.
Comprehension Questions: (page 10-13) Place velcro in each square (page 10). Cut up comprehension cards (page 12-13) , place velcro on the back of each card, and attach to page 10. (use either the two, three, or no pictured choices.) Other cards can be kept in plastic bags. As students answer questions correctly they remove the card to reveal parts of the picture. You could print an additional copy of page 10, cut up into pieces, then give students a piece as they answer questions correctly.
Thinking & Reasoning Questions (page 14) Students will draw a card and answer the question.
Yes/No Questions: (page 15) Teacher will read a question to the student and have them respond with yes/no.
Farm Bingo: (page 16-18) These boards can be used for identifying vocabulary from the story, describing, identification by attributes, etc.
Tier 2 Vocabulary: (page 19-20) Students will match the vocabulary word with its definition. (10 cards)
Verb Story: (page 21) Print a copy for each student. Students will write the correct verb tense on the lines throughout the story to make it complete.
Verb Charades: (page 22-23) Place cards face down on the table. The teacher will begin by drawing a card and acting out the action. The first student to label the action will then draw a card and perform the action and so forth until all the cards have been done.
Following Directions: (page 24-26) Students will need to complete the directions on page 25 before moving on to page 26. Students will color in the characters on page 25, then cut them out to use with the directions on page 26.
Describing: (page 27-28) Print, laminate, and cut out the pictures on page 27 and use as interactive pieces with sentence strip. Students will roll the die on page 28 twice and write in the describing words using a dry erase marker.
Rhyme: (page 29-30) Cut out the eggs and have students put them back together finding words that rhyme.
My Speech Words: (page 31) Students will find words from the story that have their speech sound and record it on their paper.
Dear Farmer Brown: (page 32) Students will write a postcard to Farmer Brown telling him how you would help Baby Duck go to sleep.
