Climate Change: How does it affect me?
This assignment gives students a close examination of the issue of climate change. The assignment is comprised of five sections (12 pages) and answer key (12 pages) Students will study the key components of climate change from a local, regional and global perspective. The assignment examines anthropogenic gases sources (or greenhouse gases) which includes carbon dioxide levels globally. Key areas of investigation are global temperature change, arctic sea ice reduction and sea level rise. Students will also identify local issues of climate change and provide ways to mitigate potential hazards.
Section 1: Historic Carbon Dioxide Levels
Section 2: Trends in Global Temperature
Section 3: Anthropogenic Gas Sources – Countries
Section 4: Disappearing Artic Ice
Section 5: Sea Level Rise – Predicting Impacts
Questions range from short answer to long answer responses. Many questions involve graphing and interpreting data.
The assignment also includes QLR Codes throughout for students to hyperlink to websites, web pages and YouTube videos for added support to questions and issues.
