Climate Zone Slide Show Project allows free exploration in researching a city's climate while providing guidelines and specific outcomes. This project can be done in a group of 2-6 students or individually. This project requires students to include latitude and landforms information as well as specific climate details of a city. It is great to do when working towards learning NGSS MS-ESS2-6: Develop and use a model to describe how unequal heating and rotation of the Earth cause patterns of atmospheric and oceanic circulation that determine regional climates. [Clarification Statement: Emphasis is on how patterns vary by latitude, altitude, and geographic land distribution.

As a group project or individual: I love giving students open ended projects. At times, I struggle with having the time to do projects so this activity comes as either a group project or individual assignment. As a group project, it can be done with 2-6 students who each do a part of the project and collaborate on the sources slide. As a group project, it can be done in a lot less time. Choose the option that works for you.
Model/template: A sample of a completed slide show is included. The link to my Google slide show is included (if you want to give students and have them make a copy and modify the sample slide show) and a pdf of the slide show is embedded in the resource.
