Clip Chart: This file includes all the printables needed to make your own classroom "Clip Chart" inspired by the clip chart from Rick Morris. I love this system because students can move up and down the chart as the day progresses, offering students the opportunity to make smart choices and improve their behavior. It also encourages the "green light" students to "rise above" to role model and outstanding status.
Why is mine better? Marzano stresses that feedback needs to be specific and performance based. I am fond of my clip chart simply because of the vocabulary. Saying "You are really showing pride, Randy" is so much more powerful than just "good job." It has become part of my everyday vocabulary. Saying you had a good or a great day is not specific, and means nothing.
I also like the reverse rainbow colors, with red being "Parent Contact." Students and parents connect it to familiar stoplight systems.
