A syllable is a speech sound that you can produce in isolation. It's an important structure for the development of reading. Did you know that awareness of syllable sounds predicts future reading success? Here is an activity that you can have students engage in practicing syllables. Have students use clothes pins to identify the words/pictures that correspond to the number of syllables on the middle of the card. Once they are finished they can turn it over for immediate assessment.
*I included the assessment portion as well just print front and back and it should be perectly aligned.
