Product Description
First Sound Fluency (FSF) is a new measure in DIBELS Next. FSF is a brief, direct measure of a student’s fluency in identifying the initial sounds in words. The ability to isolate the first sound in a word is an important phonemic awareness skill that is highly related to reading achievement. This is tested at the beginning and middle of kindergarten.

In the packet you will find:
Clip It- students say the picture out loud, then with a clothespin, they clip the beginning sound they hear.

Record It- They record the letter they heard in each picture on the recording sheet

Spin a Sound {and graph it}- students use a paperclip and pencil as a spinner and spin. Each time they land on a picture, they say it out loud, listening for the beginning sound. After saying the word, they write the begninning sound on the graph next to the letter.

Perfect for Dibels small groups or regular literacy groups!
