PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This activity will give students practice with reading times on analog clock faces with a fun, engaging puzzle. This package consists of a Clock Puzzle Grid sheet (a grid of 56 squares, each containing a time written in digits that matches the time represented on a clock on the Analog Clock Faces pages), a Clock Puzzle Key with grid sheet (a key for what the completed puzzle will look like if students read the times on the clock faces correctly), a Clock Puzzle sheet (a scrambled picture of clock designs with 56 squares, each containing a number that corresponds to a clock face on the ten pages of clock faces), and ten pages of Analog Clock Faces (total of 56 clock faces). On the 10th page of the clock faces, we have included some information on analog clocks.

To complete this activity, students should look first at clock face #1 and read the time represented by the hands on the clock. Next, go to the Clock Puzzle sheet and cut out the square with a small #1 inside. Look at the Clock Puzzle Grid and find the time that matches the time represented by the hands on clock face #1 and glue the cut out square over the time. Students should continue on this way. If all of the clocks are read correctly and squares glued into the correct spaces, the picture will look like the Clock Puzzle Key. Students may color the completed picture if you wish.

If you choose to have students work on this over several days, we suggest that you give each student a sandwich bag or envelope to store their small pieces to help prevent loss. To save paper, you may want to share the ten pages of clock faces either among a group of students or by displaying them on a projector. We have included a separate PDF for the clock faces to make it easier to display them or share them digitally with your class.

We have suggested this for grades 3-5, however, this may be used with younger students, as long as they can do the cutting and gluing. You know your students best and can choose what is appropriate for them. This could also be good for older students that need practice reading clocks. Students need scissors and glue to complete this activity. Crayons or markers are optional.

Package includes –
-Clock Puzzle Grid
-Clock Puzzle Grid with Key
-Clock Puzzle (with student directions)
-Analog Clock Faces – 10 pages – 56 clock faces (Separate PDF)
