: Are you working on close reading skills? Maybe you are introducing the close reading process or your students need a review. If so, your students will enjoy this fun close reading themed word search!! If your students are like mine, they love these.
In this close read puzzle, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonal. I would consider it on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions. Keep this in mind if choosing to use it with third graders.
I use word searches to introduce vocabulary or concepts, or even just give it as morning work. They are also great to use in writing. Perfect for a sub, too. Have your students pick some of the words from the list to use in their writing activity. Students could use the notes to tell about the close reading process. Use this word search however you would like in your classroom.
