Product Description
Are you looking for your students to become more independent readers? Time constraints make it increasingly difficult for teachers to plan differentiation in their reading instruction aligned to the Common Core Standards. And yet you want your students to obtain their reading benchmark goals, pass your district reading assessment, and most importantly, become better readers by reading and re-reading text for deeper understanding and comprehension.

This close reading resource has it all done for you. All you need to do is print and you have ready to use, differentiated, and high-interest text passages that will motivate and teach your students to read and re-read for deeper understanding.

Close reading is a key component of the Common Core Standards. This reading and re-reading and analyzing of text leads to higher level thinking skills and a deeper level of reading comprehension. These are crucial concepts for growing readers. This differentiated close reading, non-fiction resource focuses on American symbols.
Each text is leveled for differentiation. The reading texts are ordered from easiest to most difficult by topic with 3 reading passages per topic. Please see the preview for a detailed example.
