PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This bookmark is meant to be printed on card stock or laminated for students to carry with them whenever they are engaging in a close read or annotating a narrative text. The steps on the bookmark are designed to get students to think about their own thinking (engaging in metacognition) while reading and to ask questions of the text/author. If students engage in the steps and annotate properly, they'll be pushing themselves towards higher level questioning and analysis of author craft.

While the sample is a pdf document (with a "sample watermark"), the paid downloadable file is a word document, so you can modify, spiff up, or add to the bookmarks as you see fit.
