Use part or all of this Close Reading activity. I'll use it in the beginning of the year since many of my students play soccer. I created this unit because I was inspired by the World Cup this summer, and know my students will love learning about Brazil as they discuss their favorite sport.
I have set this lesson up for 3 different reads. There is also enough information here that I can use part of it to model exactly how to do a close read.
