Close Reading (Civil War Part 1) With Writing to Text Prompts is a new addition to my Tying Together the Curriculum Series!
This close reading pack includes 5 close reading informational passages on a variety of highly tested topics pertaining to events surrounding the Civil War. Each passage also has 4 text dependent questions that drive students back to the text to extrapolate the needed information. In addition, for every passage you will receive both an informational and a opinion / argument prompt the students can write to. Each prompt drives students back to the text asking them to use information or defend /support their answer from the text. An excellent complement to my Close Reading (Science), this resource pack ties together the curriculum in a way that is essential with our limited time!
An excellent way to integrate ELA and Social Studies or American History, this fantastic resource for upper elementary or middle school students is great for daily review, centers, early finishers, or even whole class instruction.
