Included in these four pages are notebook notes pages-a tried process for helping students examine texts more deeply over time as they do repeated readings. The notes page includes a set of 2 notes/handouts that students can glue into their notebooks. In addition, there is a teacher model with one of my favorite poems. This poem can be closely read for a number of standards-based purposes including but not limited to theme, figurative language, symbolism, etc. The last page is a list of standards-based ideas for close reading.
