It is Women's History Month! Celebrate by having your students read the documents from the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848. In this you will find the Resolutions put forth on the first day of the Convention, plus the DECLARATION OF SENTIMENTS that was famously patterned off the Declaration of Independence! Here you students will analyze both documents and find the position of the Convention on a host of issues, then decide if that issue has been resolved today or if it is still a problem,170 years later. Students will also make comparisons between the Declaration of Sentiments and the Declaration of Independence on a graphic organizers. Let your students see the impact women made, and the words they penned for women to have better lives in our country today!
