This handout is created for a teacher-led Close Reading routine. Students will need a text/passage for Close Reading and must already know how to annotate a text before using this handout.
The teacher must also prepare text-dependent before using this resource.
The Close Reading routine has 4 major steps. The first 3 steps include a Quick Write response and discussion and the 4th step includes questions about the text at varying levels of difficulty.
