I created this Close Reading Symbol chart for my third graders, but it can be modified and adjusted according to your grade level.
Every year I print these on card stock, laminate them, and tape a copy on each child's desk so they have a reference tool right there.
I also send a copy home for parents to keep because I require my students to mark up the text on their homework passages.
In my classroom, I print this on our poster maker, laminate them, and display them around the room as enlarged classroom anchor charts.
