This resource links the U.S. research on close reading with the Australia research on the Four Resources Model.
Included are prompts for code breaking, meaning making, text using and text analysing. Also included are activities for word work, QR codes, graphic organisers to compare/contrast texts and make text-to-self, text-to-text and text-to-world connections. Writing scaffolds are provided for acrostic and sense poems.
This resource is designed to support the close reading and comprehension of figurative language.
