This resource includes three passages/seat work tasks taken from my Close Reading Seat Work bundle. I wanted my customers to see just how great this product is before purchasing. As a customer as well, I know $15.50 is a lot to spend on a single resource, but what you are getting is so much more! An entire year of meaningful Seat Work activities. No more wasting 5 minutes to get every one settled for class. If you like this freebie, then make sure to check out my bundle where you will save $7.00.
After completing these in class, here is a response one of my students gave with the spring packet. This is the quality of writing you can expect for your students to have when responding to a text: "Earthworms are vital to the soil in various ways. First, their wast acts as a fertilizer to the soil. In the text it said, "earthworms are vital to soil because they take these nutrients, naturally found underneath the earth’s surface, and bring them to the surface via their waste." The author goes on to list a second way that earthworms are vital to the soil by explaining that the tunnels they create help the soil breathe. I know this because in the text the author wrote, "the tunnels they form also serve the purpose of aerating the ground." These are two of the main ways that the earthworms are important to our soil.
