Close reading of news articles will help students become more critical consumers of the news.Close Reads are becoming more and more important as we continue to work toward meeting the Common Core State Standards in ELA.

The pages in this resource will work with any classroom news articles, such as those found in TIME for Kids or Scholastic News. You might even want to try having your students write some of their own!
