Two different things can be done with the word cards.
1. The word cards can be cut apart as individual cards and sorted according to the 5 short vowel sounds. Instructions are included on how to do this. This packet focuses on teaching the word work in Step 1 of teaching reading. Step 1 is teaching the first 5 sounds of reading which are the short /a/, /e/, /i/, /o/, and /u/.
