I have compiled all of the minilessons I used to teach my first graders about how to break words apart by closed and open syllables. There are many valuable lessons included. I have used some graphic organizers to try to make the concepts of closed and open syllables sink in with my students. I have included practice pages to go with most of the minilessons. To use this, I projected it up on my Smartboard, and we were able to write on it, draw lines, etc. I highly recommend having your students watch the "Nessy" Syllable Division videos on Youtube. They are good at explaining syllable division in a kid-friendly way!
Just an FYI, I did the house organizer lesson about closed syllables during my evaluation, and my principal LOVED it!
I hope you find it very beneficial!
