Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs by Judi Barrett is a delightful story about the town of Chewandswallow where the townspeople collect their food from the sky. Everything is "delicious" until the weather takes a turn for the worse!
This book study consists of activities to complete after and while reading the story. It also has center activities to accompany the book. The reader’s notebook , on half sheets, includes comprehension questions (main idea, detail, inference, and drawing conclusions). Also included is a page about story elements, rhyming words, writing activity, fluency practice, and a grammar page for practicing pronouns, and a compare and contrast activity.
The center activities include the use of vocabulary cards. Students may put the words in ABC order, sort words according to syllables, writing sentences, parts of speech and create compound words. There is a template to create a story map for problem/solution. Also included is a puzzle to cut apart and put back together again by sequencing the events of the story. Answer key included for most pages.
