All the terms used in the puzzle are people who have been president of the United States of America. However, if more than one president had the same last name is only listed once. For example, Teddy Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt were both presidents, but Roosevelt is only included once.
To solve the puzzle, students simply replace each occurrence of the same number with the same letter. For example, if they decide to replace the number 1 with the letter M, all the number 1’s will also be M’s. (FYI: That’s an example. That’s not the right letter for the number 1.)
A chart is provided so students can record their decisions as to which number represents each letter as they go.
Great for reviews, extra credit, and informal evaluations!
