I wrote this 4th grade level (roughly) reading about sloths for a 4th grader who was struggling with vocabulary and comprehension.
The simple black font (Arial size 14) and 1.5 line spacing ensure that the reading can be enjoyed by those with visual sensitivities. Challenging words are spread out throughout the reading to prevent fatigue, and it’s packed with fun facts, and written engagingly to keep readers' attention.
The reading is suitable for decoding/fluency practice or reading comprehension practice. One comprehension question is embedded in the story, and one question follows the story.
